All students in their second year or above are expected to present a poster.

ABSTRACT

 

To submit an abstract, please email it directly to abstract.big@gmail.com by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH 2017.

 

The character limit is 1400 (not including spaces) excluding the title and authors, and should be in one paragraph (no separate sections such as background, method, results... etc). Your abstract will be returned if it is over the character limit or if it's in the wrong format.

No late abstracts are accepted.

POSTER

We recommend you to print out your posters at Copiesmart located in the UBC Village (http://www.copiesmart.com/).

You will get a 20% discount on any materials you on. Just tell your name and program at the counter and mention it is a poster for the BIG17.

​

Please note: BIOF and IOP will cover the expenses for their students. Make sure you print your posters at Copiesmart and mention your name and program at the counter.

Send your poster file directly to copiesmart@shaw.ca or by sharing a link to your file using their store's email.

Please provide your name and program so that they can confirm you’re printing for the BIG research day.

 

When you pick up your posters, please show your student ID to get the 20% discount.

Poster maximum size is 4x4 feet.

​

For the best quality and to avoid misprinting, please check the following:

-the file size needs to be the exact size you want printed

-if you use photoshop and illustrator, the file needs to be set up in CMYK colour palate

-the dpi of the file needs to be set between 200 dpi to 300 dpi

-for powerpoint users, the final files need to be a grouped file (need to reinsert all excel related tables and components as picture into your files)

-for photoshop/illustrator users, you need to flatten all the layers to create a single layer file before you save as a pdf

·        Light vinyl: $6.40

·        Heavy vinyl: $6.80

·        Textured fabric vinyl: $6.80
